orthopaedic trauma consultant, shoulder specialist surgeon

I obtained my MD diploma from the Semmelweis University, Budapest in 2001. I passed my specialist exam in orthopaedic traumatology with honours in 2008.

I worked at the Budapest Institute of Traumatology for over ten years, where I started up a Shoulder Clinic, and lay the foundations of shoulder surgery in collaboration with my colleague MD Balázs Gloviczki. A few years ago, I established the Shoulder Centre, where we provide shoulder treatments to the highest standards.

Since 2016, I have been working on developing the shoulder treatment services at the Budaörs Healthcare Centre. As a result, in 2018, the Centre, in consortium with the Semmelweis University’s Department of Orthopaedics and the Szent János Hospital’s Department of Orthopaedics has been awarded the title Central European Training Centre for Shoulder and Elbow Surgery by the European Society for Surgery of the Shoulder and the Elbow (ESSSE). In 2017, Johnson and Johnson recognised our training programme and shoulder surgery services with the Centre of Excellence Award.

Competing in the national league of kayaking and quadrathlon, I have seen a great number of shoulder injuries, and treating them became the focus of my professional interest. I received my pioneering shoulder surgery training in Australia, and in the UK on several grants. I am the first doctor in Hungary to specialise exclusively in shoulder treatments. I participate as a presenter in every professional event related to shoulder surgery held in Hungary, and I often perform surgery demonstrations. I have written five book chapters on shoulder surgery.

Hungary is among the world leaders in the standards of shoulder treatment services. My pioneering professional activities focus on helping provide a firm basis for that through building up and organising the related training of doctors and physiotherapists, as well as patient education and counselling.
