Consultant orthopaedic surgeon specialising in hip and knee surgery
I obtained my MD diploma summa cum laude from Semmelweis University, Budapest in 1999. I passed my specialist exam in orthopaedic traumatology in 2010 also at Semmelweis University, then specialised in hip and knee surgery. In 2011 I was awarded one of the UK’s most prestigious grants in the field of hip surgery, to work in Bristol as a Senior Hip Fellow for six months. This was followed by a grant in knee surgery at the same institution.
From 2012 through 2016, I was head surgeon and deputy team leader at the department of hip surgery of the University Hospital Basel (USB), where I learnt the method of anterior (frontal excretory) non-muscular hip prosthesis implantation.
I learnt the method of joint saving arthroscopic (keyhole) hip surgery at the Kantonsspital in Luzern from MD Richard Herzog, who performs the highest number of such operations in Switzerland, among others, on premier league professional ice hockey players. As head surgeon of orthopaedia and traumatology at that hospital, I have performed several hundred of such operations starting in 2016. We have also developed a new minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery method, which helps active age people get back fast to their sports activities and everyday life.
In 2018, I started my private practice in Basel.
I am member of the Swiss Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology; the Swiss Medical Association; the Society for Arthroscopy and Joint Surgery (AGA – a German speaking Association for Arthroscopy); the Basel Medical Association; and the Hungarian Orthopaedic Association (MOT).
I do research in the field of orthopaedia, publish articles in professional periodicals, and hold presentations in international conferences.
My aim is to quickly restore patients’ ability to move, without pain and complications, using the most state-of-the-art, scientifically proven, minimally invasive, muscle sparing methods of hip and knee surgery.
